This particular project required the design of a bi-fold mailer for Black Friday while following the brand guidelines of Target. The aim was to design a marketing material that was dynamic and engaging yet still followed the strict brand guidelines of the company.
Even though Target is a well-known brand worldwide, it was necessary to conduct research and analysis of the brand standards of Target to ensure accuracy. This included typography, color, spacing, image treatment, and layout structure.
Once I began conceptualizing the layout, I refined the design using InDesign to ensure that the content was formatted according to Target’s aesthetic requirements. The task was not to be creatively boundless—but creatively bound.
There was a point when I wondered if the design was too simple. But realizing that Target’s brand is built on simplicity and minimalism, I decided to embrace that. The end result is a clean and organized layout that integrates perfectly with the brand and communicates the promotional content effectively.
