Tamed is a conceptual editorial project that revolves around a mini eight-page magazine for cat lovers. The aim was to develop a cohesive publication with new editorial content that balanced visual interest, readability, and editorial design.
The project started with exploratory sketches for layout and masthead design. Once the masthead was refined and digitized, I applied it to the cover design and started working on the internal layout system. Each spread was designed to have a unique composition to keep the interest level up while maintaining a cohesive visual look throughout the publication.
One of the most important challenges in organizing the content was doing so in a manner that was both readable and visually interesting. With original content and a variety of visual elements, it was necessary to strike a balance between information density and the flow of the narrative. By refining the layout and using pull quotes to direct the reader, I was able to create a balanced editorial design.
The end result is a cohesive and interesting editorial design.
